Linux version?
« on: December 10, 2014, 12:40:08 AM »
Is Deadnaut going to be ported to Linux?

(The announcement back in July mentioned "Windows, Mac and Linux".
Has Linux been dropped, or is it still being worked on?)

Hey Clockwish,

We're still looking to do a Linux version, but as we got closer to release we realised the support burden of launching simultaneously on three platforms might be a bit too much for just the two of us, so we erred on the side of caution and went with Windows and Mac first.

Once we're in a comfortable state with these, we'll definitely take a look at the Linux side of things.

That makes perfect sense. In a closely related development,  I just bought Deadnaut on Steam.

I assume from your blog that you're developing on .Net, and using Mono on Mac and Linux. The variety of Linux distros can cause problems -- eg., which version of Mono is installed, if any. I'd suggest shipping a copy of Mono with the Linux game.

Best wishes -- Clockwish
