The general questions thread!
« on: December 18, 2014, 09:29:32 AM »
I freakin' love Deadnaut. It's creepy, awesome, addicting and great.

I do have a couple questions though.

The manual refers to an effect called "Toxic". However, there doesn't seem to be a weapon with Toxic damage in game. There are Chemical weapons, though.
Quote from: Manual
Slow: Slows all actions, including movement and rate of fire (cold damage)
Flaming: High damage over a short duration (heat damage)
Confusion: Inability to distinguish friend from foe (cyber, neural)
Stun: Unable to move or perform any action (neural, shock)
Chain: Effects passed on to other entities in range (heat, shock)
Panic: Flee as quickly as possible away from an aggressor (neural, spectral)
Penetration: Attack passes through enemies (sonic, spectral, beam penetration)
Dissolve: Attack may lower defenses or dissolve the target completely (toxic)
Knockback: Target is knocked back (ballistic, melee, blast)

Is Toxic the same as Chemical damage?

Answer by David:
Yes, Toxic is the same as Chemical - the manual is incorrect here.

When a Deadnaut dies, and is cloned, it appears he or she loses some of her stats. On the character's profile, at the bottom of skills, it reads the following:
Quote from: In Game
Mutation occurred at 25%. Attribute loss: grit. Attribute boost: wits.
Aptitude gain: cohesion, detection, hacking and investigation.

Also a second one (I think it's because he or she has died twice)

Quote from: In Game
Mutation occurred at 50%. Attribute loss: grit and acuity.
Attribute boost: vigor. Memory loss: hacking, intuition, combat and
investigation. Aptitude gain: stealth and cohesion.

What does the Mutation occurred at 25% or Mutation occurred at 50% mean?

Answer by David:
As mutation rates increase, there's a greater chance that something negative will happen during the cloning process.

It seems there are two different items that require "Tech" slots on the armors. Decrypter and Scrambler. The other one gives decryption bonus, and the other gives scrambling bonus. What do the respective bonuses affect?

Any answers are highly appreciated. :)
I will edit this post for more questions, and I'll post the answers below the question in case someone else is wondering.

Thanks for the answers!
Do the mutation rates increase each time they're cloned?

Also congratulations, you made it to my top 10 games list of 2014. :D

EDIT: Also added new questions! Check out the bottom of the list!
