According to latest patchnote

Is this really necessary? I mean, yes, sentinels are tough, but totally beatable. In fact, it will be really nice if devs boost resists or increase count of some threats (most important - weak and fast melee ones) because some missions  way too easy.

The changes to sentinels were very minor, in the range of 5-10% -- they are still extremely tough. The range change was more of a fix, as it was possible for a sentinel to shoot deadnauts from extreme distances previously.
